Worship of Lord Sun God

 Sunday is considered a day of worship of the Sun God. It is believed that by fasting in the name of Suryadev regularly on Sunday and worshiping helps worshiper come out of poverty.

In Hindu mythology, the Sun has been considered the center of the universe.  Sun has been worshiped since the beginning; hence the Sun is also known as Adidev. Offering water to Lord Surya after bathing every morning is said to be a very sacred, chanting Om Namh: Shri Adityay Namah Mantra :|

It has been said that worshiping the Sun makes a person strong and as bright as the Sun. Fasting on Sunday and worshiping the Sun regularly is said to be very beneficial for spiritual life.

Method of Surya Puja: 

Sun worship is a to be done from Sunrise to Sunset on Sunday. After bathing in the morning on Sunday, worship Sun by uttering the following mantra with - ॐ Ahi Suryadev Sahastrashanso Tejo Rashi Jagatpate. Anukampaya Maa Bhaktya Griharadhya Diwakar: || ॐ Surya Namah, ॐ Adityay Namah, ॐ Namo Bhaskarai Nam:|| Ardhya Samarpayami.

If possible, then offer red flowers, sandalwood and incense. Fasting is not necessary for Sun Lord. If you want, you can fast from Sunrise to Sunset.

Before Sunset light a lamp with pure ghee and Worship Lord Surya. This way your one day worship or fast will be completed.
